I used to be the queen of doing. I’d finish a big project—whether in my business or personal life—and instead of catching my breath, reflecting, or (God forbid) celebrating, I’d immediately jump into the next thing. The high of achieving was addicting, but I wasn’t truly living. I had tied my self-worth to the number of things I could cross off my to-do list, and let me tell you, it was a fast track to burnout.
I’m naturally ambitious, and my work lights me up, but I had to learn how to create balance—to savor my wins, to actually bask in the fulfilling life I worked so hard to build, and to stop burning myself out. So, this week, after having spent the past three weeks pouring my heart and soul into creating a new I’m giving myself permission to take a sacred pause. To celebrate. To let the fullness I feel in my heart take over. I’m sitting in gratitude for the fire within me and for the unwavering support I’ve received from my partner, who has listened to every idea, breakthrough, and milestone along the way.
And more than anything, I’m reflecting on the self-trust it took to be here. To create on this level. To do it openly, vulnerably, and fearlessly.
After years of stifling myself to fit into expectations of success, worthiness, and happiness that didn’t align with me, I now know that self-trust is the most important, yet unspoken, rule of a fulfilling life—a definite key to success. Because to truly have it all—pleasure and success, order and fun, indulgence and discipline—you have to trust yourself enough to live outside the lines. To ignore the noise. To take up space. To allow joy without fearing punishment for being too happy.
Why Trusting Yourself is the Ultimate Life Hack
If you’ve been conditioned to please, overgive, and put yourself last, breaking free isn’t easy. But when you trust yourself, everything shifts. You stop waiting for permission. You stop seeking validation. You stop feeling guilty for wanting more than just survival and you begin to see that a more fulfilling life is within your reach.
Trusting yourself shatters the limitations that have kept you stuck—enslaved by doubt, fear, and unworthiness. Trusting yourself makes you brave. It gives you strength and permission to fight for your right to joy, success, love, and all good things—as you define them. It reminds you that limitations don’t exist because you have every right to take up as much space as you want.

Breaking Free from "Good Girl" Conditioning
Pleasure doesn’t lead to “getting into trouble.” There’s something in us, even as adults, that can still be quite childish—this lingering fear of getting into trouble for doing what feels good. Blame it on “good girl” conditioning.
As we grow up, we’re constantly told not to play too much or eat too many cookies, to do our homework before experiencing the adventure of the books we’d rather be reading or playing with friends, blissfully creating imaginary worlds.
As children, we are trained that too much joy means we will upset our caregivers—the boring adults who are in charge and totally disconnected from bliss and imagination. Hell, they probably envied it on some level.
And in adulthood, the training doesn’t stop. We tell ourselves and each other things like:
- Don’t laugh too loudly in a public place—you’ll look crazy.
- Don't say anything that will ruffle the boss' feathers.
- Don’t wear that bold print—you’ll draw too much attention.
- Hobbies like painting or dancing? Waste of time. Focus on increasing your productivity.
And so, we shrink ourselves to avoid getting into trouble with the invisible strict parental figure we’ve been carrying within.
Please stop conforming. Please stop making yourself miserable. Please trust yourself to be yourself. The costume you’re wearing of the “perfect adult” is ill-fitting, and it’s making you depressed.
